Artist statement

The Self and the Other. The complexity of a relationship represents, in my opinion, the most fascinating matter about humanity, a mystery in many ways, always revealing itself bit by bit, never fully disclosing. After all, reaching the Truth doesn't require to understand precisely what it is made of. Shooting pictures - especially when it comes to portrait, but not only - is more than an opportunity for meeting the Other, might this be a person or, in a broader way, another dimension: a true encounter primarily allows to deepen the knowledge of the own Self. Thus, the richest encounter is the one bringing along a mixed feeling of desire and impossibility, developing relationships onto ambiguous basis, between formal distance and intimacy, leading to the unpredictable between great risks and great rewards. Depicting the contingency of an encounter, meant as the dialectic between different truths, is my focus and my ambition.

Aside from personal projects, I also work on editorial assignments for portrait, documentary and interior photography (check interiors-photography.com).
